No ordinary watch, at just 20 years old it can already claim gamechanger status. While the fundamental design is unchanged, details, complications and materials continue to reassemble into unexpected combinations.
The Big Bang evolution
When the Big Bang burst onto the scene in 2005, it made a bold departure from the traditional idea of a watch: the six exposed screws on its bezel, the unconventional case, a rubber strap, the revolutionary combination of steel, ceramic and titanium. The Art of Fusion had arrived. Since then, the Big Bang galaxy has continued to unfurl, elevating the watch’s design codes and asserting its bold and sporty nature. The Unico shows off its in-house mechanisms with visible column wheel. The Meca-10 teases the limits with a ten-day power reserve. Tourbillon and Grandes Complications versions explore high-mech terrain, while creative alliances (with Sang Bleu and Samuel Ross, to name just two) double down on innovation. With each new edition, the Big Bang proclaims loud and clear its avant-garde vision of haute horology.
The movement
UNICO
Unico is the first 100% in-house Hublot calibre. Comprising 354 flawlessly executed components, this automatic movement, delivering 72 hours of power reserve, reinvents the flyback chronograph by positioning it dial-side. And so it follows that every watch powered by the Unico has an openworked dial through which to admire the chronograph module with its column wheel, dual clutch, and silicon lever and escape wheel. Of course, Hublot being Hublot, for the Icon’s 20th anniversary the brand departs from its usual practice and instead gives pride of place to the chequerboard dial.

The patented One Click system puts the Art of Fusion at the Hublotista’s fingertips. Positioned in full view, flanked by two emblematic screws, it opens the door to unlimited expression. No longer one watch but many, the silhouette is unchanged but the style is transformed, all with a single click. Hugging the wrist, armed with its immediately recognisable — often rubber — strap, instant modularity guarantees total individuality.
