Today, Bucherer 1888 proudly announces the continuation of its partnership with Swiss luxury watchmaker Hublot with the launch of two exclusive watches, and announces plans to open a modern and spacious standalone boutique in Covent Garden this summer. The Big Bang Unico Bucherer Exclusive Titanium and the Big Bang Unico Bucherer Exclusive Ceramic make a contrasting pair of watches that celebrate the Big Bang, Hublot’s flagship collection with an instantly recognisable design.

Bucherer revisits the contemporary icon

The two exclusive models mark the third time the prestigious brands have collaborated in their long-standing partnership. Hublot’s flagship collection, the Big Bang, has revolutionized the watchmaking universe with its extraordinary design. A contemporary icon, it is constantly reinventing itself – leaving room for all the technical and aesthetic daring. Bucherer’s exclusive editions represent a passion for the cutting edge, striving to surprise customers and bring the unexpected to life in an ever-evolving collection of limited edition timepieces and iconic lifestyle designs. It is these shared philosophies – innovation, disruption and creation – that have culminated in a unique approach to bring the new Hublot timepieces.

With a white rubber strap, the Hublot Big Bang Unico Bucherer Exclusive Titanium features an exceptional 42mm polished titanium case, which is offset with a clear sapphire bezel, and signature skeletonised dial. Meanwhile, the ceramic model combines a 42mm micro-blasted black ceramic case with a polished black sapphire bezel and skeletonised dial. The Big Bang Unico Bucherer Exclusive Titanium and the Big Bang Unico Bucherer Exclusive Ceramic boast Hublot’s in-house Unico HUB1280 movement. Beating from within, with a power reserve of 72 hours, this movement showcases an “open heart” to reveal its extraordinary design.

This luxurious duo skilfully blends innovation and tradition with an extraordinary combination of materials and revolutionary design to make a strong contemporary style statement. The combination of sapphire, rubber, ceramic and titanium in these new pieces embody Hublot’s ‘Art of Fusion’ whereby innovative materials are created and manufactured using the latest technologies, unique in watchmaking and developed by Hublot.

A standalone shop in shop design inspired by ‘The Art of Fusion’

Situated within Covent Garden’s well-established east Piazza at the Royal Opera House Arcade, the spacious new Hublot boutique will have an elegant and sophisticated layout across 50sqm. Hublot is known for its ‘Art of Fusion’, which combines traditional watchmaking techniques with modern materials such as carbon fibre, ceramics and rubber. The new boutique has been designed to align perfectly with this ethos, with a unique combination of highly polished glass, dark wood, floors of marble and cream carpet, and mirrored stainless steel finishes. This aesthetic of high quality materials and contemporary design will offer a modern and luxurious shopping experience to watch enthusiasts and collectors alike, looking for the perfect timepiece.

Accompanying the minimal design and chromatic palette are bright and graphic floor-to-ceiling pop artworks depicting Hublot timepieces and movements, which stay true to the brand’s history of artist collaboration and imagery of the manufacture in Nyon, where the research and development, as well as creation of Hublot’s proprietary movements, takes place. Presented throughout the linear architecture in freestanding cases and wall displays will be Hublot’s signature collections such as the brand icon the Big Bang, and other favourites including the Classic Fusion and Spirit of Big Bang, as well as timepieces created exclusively for Bucherer. With a considered, modern design the boutique will offer a welcoming bar and private space for VIP clients to enjoy their visit; the new boutique is a destination where time becomes an art form, and every moment is an opportunity to experience the ultimate luxury.

A partnership of shared passions

Tradition and innovation go hand in hand at Bucherer, where thanks to a strong entrepreneurial spirit, a great deal of passion and an outstanding feel for trends, the family company – which opened its doors in 1888 in Lucerne – made its mark on the industry right from the very beginning. Strong business ties to the world’s most renowned luxury watch brands have contributed to the continual growth of the company. With a passion for disruption, innovation and collaboration, Hublot perfectly complements the Bucherer portfolio, and the two have shared a strong partnership since 2008.

Speaking on the occasion, Patrick Graf, Chief Commercial Officer of Bucherer 1888, said, "having already collaborated with Hublot on a number of limited edition models exclusive to Bucherer, and following years of offering their distinct collections to our clients, we are delighted to build on our strong partnership with two new models and a new boutique in London, a city in which both Bucherer and Hublot already have great presence. We look forward to welcoming new and loyal clients into this sleek, modern space, and are excited to further leverage the collaboration with these new exclusive timepieces.”

These exclusives pieces are limited to 30 pieces in each style and available exclusively in selected Bucherer boutiques and Bucherer online in the United Kingdom, Germany, France and the United States.

“Following the great successes we have seen in our 2021 and 2019 exclusive Bucherer models, and a longstanding partnership since 2008, we are very proud to continue to work with our trusted partner on not one, but two new exclusive timepieces. We celebrate our iconic Big Bang Unico with one model in black ceramic and one in titanium, materials we have respectively mastered in our manufacture”
